Opening Ceremonies of the 2022 FIFA World Cup: At 9:30 p.m., the host nation of Qatar will take against Ecuador in the tournament's opening match.

On Sunday, the opening ceremonies for the FIFA World Cup 2022 will begin in Qatar. At 9:30 PM local time on the first night of the giant athletic event, the hosts of Qatar will face off against Ecuador. 

A formal opening ceremony will be place at Al Bayt Stadium before the first kickoff of the tournament's football matches. Jungkook, lead singer of the popular South Korean band BTS, will be among the performers at the opening ceremony. 

The stadium can house up to 60,000 spectators, so it's sure to be an impressive event. There has been controversy surrounding the tournament since since Qatar was given the privilege to host it, but now all eyes will be on the football players and their abilities.
