Kochu Preman, a well-known actor in Malayalam films, died at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. He was 68 years old.
He died on Friday while being taken to the hospital because he was having trouble breathing.
He started acting in plays and moved into Malayalam movies in 1979, but he didn't become well-known until the late 1990s. Since then, he hasn't had any reason to look back.
Preman was great at playing comedic roles and has been in a lot of movies over the past 20 years.
When TV serials started, he was also busy acting in them.
Even though he was short, his height never stopped him from playing comedic roles. He was known for how well he spoke, especially when he used the popular Thiruvananthapuram accent.
His wife, an actress, and their son still live in the state capital city, where Preman was from.
