An LGBTQ bar in Colorado Springs was shot, resulting in at least 5 deaths and 18 injurie

According to several sources, a shooting at an LGBTQ bar in Colorado left five people dead and another 18 injured.

The injured person, who police believe to be the suspect, was found and is being treated in custody, according to Lt. Pamela Castro, a spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department, who made the announcement during an early-morning press conference.

According to Castro, the number of fatalities "is subject to change as the inquiry progresses."

he stated during the press conference that after getting calls at around 11:57 p.m. "Officers swiftly made entrance" into Club Q at local time. They did discover one person inside, who we believe to be the culprit.

Castro confirmed that the suspect was hurt as well and is now in police custody by saying, "The suspect is being treated at a nearby hospital."

The club's Facebook page featured the following statement: "The attack on our community was senseless, and Club Q is saddened. We are sending prayers and good thoughts to each and every one of the victims, as well as to their loved ones.

According to NBC News affiliate KOAA, several ambulances were there where the club is located on N. Academy Boulevard.

According to Castro, local hospitals are assisting friends and relatives in locating those who were hurt at the club.
