When Rudy was three year his parents split. stay with mother in Saint-Quentin. In 2003 Rudy started playing basketball. he joined Cholet Basket’s cadet In 2007. he participated in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Europe Under-18 Championship.

Cholet Basket (2011–2013)

Rudy entered NBA draft in 2013 for 2013-2014 season and the  NBA Draft Combine, Rudy set a record for wingspan, 7 feet 8½ inches (235 cm ) and standing reach, measuring 9 feet 7 inches (292 cm ). These impressive dimensions earned him the nickname “The Stifle Tower.”

Rudy was selected as the Denver Nuggets 27th overall pick on June 27, 2013. Gobert was traded to Utah Jazz on draft night. Rudy signed his big contract with the Utah Jazz and then went on to play match in the 2013 NBA (National Basketball Association) summer league. In a match against the Indiana Pacers, Rudy recorded his 31st double-double of the season, recording 19 points and 11 rebounds, making it his 30th consecutive game with no fewer than 10 rebounds. Rudy helped the Utah Jazz as they reached the playoffs that season. In Match 1 of the playoffs against the Team of Los Angeles Clippers, he went down with a bone injury to his left knee, despite his injury, Rudy played but was out of action for subsequent games.
